The dominant colors in the minimalist interior are black, white, gray, shades of cream and brown. Thanks to the contrasting combination of shades, it is possible to give the design special expressiveness.

A classic style is considered a combination of white and black, complemented by bright shades. As an option: a black podium, white bedding and several decorative pillows in bright colors (red, blue, green). There are also some tips for interior decoration:

when designing minimalist furniture, it is recommended to adhere to such schemes: contrasting saturated shades are chosen for surfaces of small sizes (decorative pillows, ordinary pillows);
in the decoration of the bed, various shades of the same color are used. As an option - a chocolate-colored podium and light brown blankets and bedspreads. Or a dark gray podium, a light gray headboard and a pearl-colored bedspread;

Manufacturers produce models whose frame structure (rigid base for the mattress) is made in the form of a podium or rests on legs (metal, wooden).

Most often, for the design of an interior in the style of minimalism, they choose a podium bed. Advantages of such models: the possibility of organizing storage places, an unusual design, original materials (leather, textiles) are used for upholstery. Products of different heights are produced - low (20-30 cm), medium (40-60 cm), high (from 70 cm). The podiums of medium height are considered the most popular, since on high beds it is sometimes uncomfortable to sleep, and low ones can cause psychological discomfort.

The main requirements for the materials: strength, durability, environmental friendliness, aesthetic appeal, affordability. Standard materials used in the manufacture of furniture:

natural wood - the main advantages of the material: structural reliability, natural beauty, a pleasant smell of natural wood. Of the minuses, you can highlight the high cost, high weight, the use of special products for surface care. Arrays of wood are of two types: soft (pine, linden, alder), withstanding loads of 150-500 kg and solid (beech, ash, oak), capable of withstanding the weight of 250-650 kg;
MDF / Particleboard - they make practical beds that do not require special care. Due to affordable prices and a variety of color shades, textures, such models are in great demand. The main disadvantages: the material quickly deteriorates in conditions of high humidity. Particleboard products have a short service life;
a combination of metal elements and parts made of wood or MDF. Such beds are very popular, because thanks to the metal frame provides increased reliability, durability. And the wooden baskets of the base give the products an aesthetic appearance and bring comfort to a minimalist atmosphere.

To decorate the base, a wide variety of materials are used:

high-quality fabrics give the beds a flawless look. Arpatek (in the composition of the material there are 25% natural fibers) is considered one of the most expensive varieties. The canvas looks like a skin, but it feels soft and thin. Also popular are relaxation, jacquard, chenille, flock, velor, faux suede;
genuine leather is an elegant, strong and durable material. A special plus of the material is environmental friendliness. A bed with a leather podium brings a touch of exclusivity and luxury. Most often, upholstery is used in bovine leather, the thickness of which can be about 5 mm. Aniline leather is considered the most expensive - a high-quality material with a thickness of at least 1.5 mm. Its distinctive feature is the absorption of moisture, organic oils. When caring for a leather surface, the use of chemicals is not recommended.

When choosing a bed in the style of minimalism, preference should be given to simple products devoid of decor (ornament, carving, painting). If there is a desire to make the bed the main element of the interior, then the decoration for the walls and floor is selected discreet (plain or with small ornaments) and a minimum of additional furniture is installed.
